In our search for the best chicken wings, Hooter's wins, in our book, hands down. Here's our version of their recipe. Serve with homemade Ranch Salad Dressing, made with buttermilk. Blue Cheese Salad Dressing and celery sticks. So sinfully good!
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Louisiana Hot Sauce
1 dash ground pepper
1 dash garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt
10 chicken wings
vegetable oil for frying
bleu cheese salad dressing
Homemade Ranch Salad dressing
Celery
Combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt in a small bowl. Rinse the wings in water. Place the wings in a big Ziploc bag and shake in the flour mixture, coating each wing evenly. Put the wings in the refrigerator for 60 to 90 minutes. This will help the breading to stick to the wings when fried. Heat oil in a deep fryer or on the stove to 375 degrees. You want just enough oil to cover the wings entirely - an inch or so deep at least. Combine the butter, hot sauce, ground pepper and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat until the butter is melted and the ingredients are well blended. Put the wings into the oil and fry them for 10 to 15 minutes or until the wings turn golden brown. Remove the wings from the oil to a paper towel to drain. Do in batches if necessary, you don't want to overcrowd the wings in the oil. Place wings in a casserole dish and keep cooked wings in a warm oven. Once all the wings are cooked place the wings in a large plastic container, add the hot sauce and butter mixture, put the lid on and shake, coating all of the wings evenly. Serve hot with bleu cheese and Ranch Salad dressings and celery sticks on the side.
You make the BEST wings!
