About Me

Welcome to the debut of my cooking blog. It's my sincere hope this blog will inspire others to get in their kitchens and cook up some scrumptious dishes with their loved ones. In writing this blog, my husband, David and I wanted to share our love for food and everything that goes into cooking it....deciding what to eat, shopping for the ingredients, cooking it together and ultimately enjoying the fruits of our labor. We're from Dallas and our great city has a treasure trove of places you can go buy the freshest ingredients possible, while responsibly contributing to the local growers and purveyors of fresh meats, cheeses and vegetables. Not only do you get the freshest ingredients in town, but you get to meet the people that are responsible for bringing those fresh ingredients to your plate; the farmers, the sellers, the makers and sometimes just the enthusiasts that make it so fun! This tends to be far more enjoyable than going to the local supermarket and just buying groceries to make a meal. By buying locally you a make a meal experience a real experience.

Not only do we love deciding what we're going to eat and then going to special places around town to find the right locally-grown, fresh ingredients, but it's also all about spending quality time together making another delicious meal that the entire family will enjoy! We have found that when we do this together, we not only nourish our bodies, but we nourish our love for each other and strengthen our family by eating a wonderful meal together.

So...Please enjoy this blog with the love in which it is intended and venture out, buy locally and savor some of the fantastic food that is all around us! It's so easy to fall into a food rut and eat the same thing all the time, but it can be way more fun to go out on a limb and try something you might not typically cook on a Tuesday evening. I look forward to sharing many culinary experiences with you. Until then, Cheers and...

Bon Appétit!
Kelly
